Fattegad is located 15 km from Dapoli City in Ratnagiri District. It is one of three forts built to guard for Suvarnadurg and other two Goa Fort - Ratnagiri District and Kanakdurg Fort.

This fort was built by Khairiyat Khan. Fort was under control of Tulaji Angre. Due to rivalry between Peshwa and Angre a combined efforts were made by British and the Peshwa against Tulaji. This fort was captured by Captain James and Handed over to Peshwas in 1817. British forces captured the fort from the Peshwa's.

Today this fort is a dwelling place for the local fisherman.
