Kille Nivati
Kille Nivati also known as Nivati Fort. Village of Nivati is located on South of Sindhudurg Fort approximately 10 kms. This fort constructed by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in order to safeguard the sea route from Karli creek near Vengurla City.
History of Nivati Fort
Nivati Fort was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj after Sindhudurg Fort. Ismail Khan surviving the Portuguese took over the fort in 1748. Chhatrapati of Karveer won this fort from the Sawant in 1787. Sawant took it back in 1803 after that British captured this fort on 4 February 1818.
